Red face A/C noise

I have a problem with my car. I own 2015 Infiniti QX70 3.7 . I bought it 3 days ago.
my car has a fairly annoying 'dry bearing' type sound when the AC is on. Typically, I only notice it around 5 mph or less (about the speed you drive in a mall parking lot, etc). I reported it to the dealer and they said it is 'normal' for the AC compressor to sound that way.

what do you think guys?

I'm not familiar with the newest QX70 and how it sounds but I would take it back to the dealer and have another tech see it and/or take it to another dealer if you aren't happy with it.

It's a great car!

I also have a 2015 QX70 and I also have the same noise when A/C is on. I also hear it when car is idling with A/C on. Haven't had it looked at yet.

Are you planning to have your dealer look at it or just deal with it yourself?

Keep us post on what you end up doing.

I just scheduled my warranty for service for my 14 QX70 due to an A/C Compressor leaking oil. I noticed the whine and looked under the hood and saw the oil.

I stand corrected. The leak was the valve cover gasket and the whine was the transmission..... new tranny ordered and will be going in next week.

Thankfully it happened while the vehicle was under warranty since a transmission service like that would cost at least a few thousand, with the actual transmission itself taking up most of the cost of course.

Did you end up getting the vehicle back as yet or is it still at the dealership? Hopefully they gave you a nice loaner while you waited. Buddy of mine that took his Infiniti Q50 in got to drive a Q70 loaner!

Too bad it wasn't a QX80! After all you drive a QX70, which would sort of make sense to give you a QX80. Much unlike someone that owns a Q50 or G37.

How are you liking the QX60 so far? I heard it can be a bit sluggish.

Its a nice car but not anywhere near the sportiness of the 70. The 70 is back in my hands. No whine and everything fixed free of charge. I have a funny feeling they are going to be installing trannys in a lot of these vehicles. The mechanic said he compared my car to others and the same noise is present except mine was more pronounced. My QX70 also has 44K miles on it where the others are in their infancy. Diagnosis was a bad carrier bearing but nobody can be sure since they don't break them down at the dealer. They did send an audio clip of the noise to the warranty techs and they are the ones that authorized a new tranny.
