Once upon a time the QX70 was unique among its competitors with its emphasis on wild styling over interior space. There are now more serious competitors, like the BMW X6 and the Acura ZDX. This thread will lay out some info on each vehicle so we can see how they compare.
MSRP - $44,950
The QX70 is underpinned by the same RWD-architecture that is used by the 370Z. It has two engines to choose from: a 3.7-liter V6 with 325 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, or a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 390 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy comes in at 17/24 city/highway mpg and 16/22 for FWD and AWD V6 models, respectively, while the V8 returns 14/20 mpg.
The interior uses premium materials, like soft leather, brushed aluminum and genuine wood trim. Plenty of buttons instead of an infotainment controller, which could be for better or for worse. plenty of options are available in three packages. Stand outs include the navigation system in the Premium package, and the Intelligent Cruise Control system in the Technology package.
MSRP - $59,800
The BMW X6 comes with two different engine options. The first is a 3.0 liter inline-six with a single turbocharger. That motor makes 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, and gets 16/23 mpg. The other engine option is the more powerful twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8. That engine produces 400 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for the V8 is 14/20 mpg.
Options include the M Sport Package which boosts horse power up to 315 or 440 depending which engine you have. The package also gives you some extras like 20" alloy wheels, black chrome exhaust tips, and stainless steel pads. Other options include heated seats and steering wheel , a navigation system, a 600-watt premium audio system, multicontour seats, a lane departure warning system, dynamic cruise control and a rear parking camera.
MSRP - $50,920
The Acura ZDX is going to be discontinued at the end of the current model year. The ZDX runs on a 3.7-liter V6 which will produce 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy comes in at 16/22 mpg.
The interior of the ZDX is similar to the TL sedan. There is a center navigation screen which is mounted high on the center stack. The ZDX comes in one near fully-loaded trim levels. A standard model comes with perforated Milano leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a navigation system with an eight-inch display, a 10-speaker, 435-watt ELS surround system with 15 GB of memory and USB and AUX connectivity, a rear camera, front parking sensors, a smart key with push-button start, a panoramic sunroof and dual-zone automatic climate control.
